In September, Todd M. Smith, PhD. (Digital World Biology's Head of Business Development) became an Editorial Board Member of OMICS: A Journal of Integrative Biology. The Journal is the only peer-reviewed forum covering all trans-disciplinary OMICS-related areas such as integrative (systems) biology and medicine from diverse specialties that include bioinformatics, computational biology, and biomedical informatics. Papers are published on data standards, meta-data, data sharing, databases, biobanks and cloud computing as well as methodological papers focused statistical analysis and algorithmic development.
As a worldwide publication, with readers in 170 countries, OMICS encourages authors to submit manuscripts on capacity building for developing world OMICS. In medicine, papers are published on the applications of OMICS for personalized medicine (e.g., pharmacogenomics) and public health practice (e.g., vaccinomics); and social, legal and ethics analyses of OMICS technologies and post-genomics life science innovations.
Smith joins an editorial board that includes a distinguished group of international scientists. He will add his experience in genomics, medicinal chemistry, computational biology, and computing systems to help advance the editorial outreach globally to include high quality submissions on integrative biology and biotechnology applications from around the world.
